Once a year, during the religious feast of Corpus Domini, the town of Spello—a medieval hilltop gem in central Umbria with roots predating the Roman era—celebrates the festival of L’Infiorata.
The celebration is marked by the creation of elaborate floral carpets that line the town’s streets. Local floral artists design stunning, large-scale depictions of religious themes and sacred art using nothing but flower petals, seeds, and natural elements. These intricate masterpieces are crafted overnight, just in time for the morning procession,

Day by Day Itinerary of the Tour
- Day 1– Arrive in Perugia
Arrival at the country farm “La volpe e l’uva” (Perugia, Central Italy, Umbria, near Tuscany). Check-in your apartment at 4:00pm.
- Day 2 – Cooking + Guided Tour of Bevagna with Sagrantino Wine Experience
Morning: Hands-on cooking class starts around 10:00 am. You will prepare a four course lunch that you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by our wines.
Afternoon: Discover the charm of Bevagna, a beautifully preserved medieval town in the heart of Umbria. Stroll through its cobbled streets, ancient Roman remains, and picturesque piazzas with an expert guide who will bring its rich history to life.
The tour ends with a visit to a local winery in the Montefalco area, where you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of the renowned Sagrantino wine, one of Italy’s most prestigious reds.
- Day 3– Cooking + Olive Oil Mill Tour with Tasting
Morning: Hands-on cooking class starts around 10.00 am. You will prepare a four course lunch that you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by our wines.
Afternoon: Enjoy a guided tour of a traditional olive oil mill in the heart of Umbria. Learn about the production process, from harvest to pressing, and discover the secrets behind high-quality extra virgin olive oil. The experience ends with a guided tasting, where you’ll explore the rich flavors and aromas of freshly pressed oils, paired with local delicacies.
- Day 4– Cooking + Cooking + Spello: L’infiorata!
Morning: You will visit Spello during its most important annual celebration, the Infiorata, when the streets around the main church are transformed into stunning floral carpets made entirely of fresh flower petals.
These intricate designs depict religious themes and require hours of meticulous work by local artists and volunteers.
The event culminates on Sunday morning with a solemn procession led by the bishop, who walks over the floral creations around 10:30 a.m., making this a truly unforgettable experience of beauty, faith, and tradition.
Afternoon: Hands-on cooking lesson starts around 16,30pm. You will prepare a four course dinner that you will accompanied by our wines.

PRICES
The prices are for single travelers (single occupancy) and for groups from 2 to 8 people ( double occupancy). If your group is composed by more than 8 people send me your request and we will send you the best price!
It is also possible to bring along a non-participating partner who can spend the morning enjoying the surroundings, and could then join the group at lunchtime. Non-participating guests are welcome on the excursion and can use all the facilities at the farmhouse and join all the meals, just not the actual cooking classes.

- Group from 2 to 4 people Participating guest, double occupancy in 1 apartment ( 2 people) and in 2 apartments (3 and 4 people) 1550 euro
- Group from 5 to 8 people Participating guest, double occupancy in 3 apartments 1400 euro

If you are a group of people and you want to have single occupancy ( 1 person in 1 apartments) the single supplement is 150 euro.
