A perfect program for lovers of wine and gourmets!
In this program our involving cookery courses will be accompanied by interesting wine tours to learn about the peculiarities of red and white Umbrian wines.
The first wine tour will be focused on the Sagrantino wine, one of Italy’s most celebrated red wines of the region.
The second tour will be in a winery located on the green hills around the Trasimeno Lake, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. The Trasimeno Doc wine region is a “hidden gem” of the historic wine regions of Italy.

Details of the Cooking Holiday

Day by Day Itinerary of the Holiday

 

  • Day 1 – Arrive in Perugia
    Arrival at the country farm “La volpe e l’uva” (Perugia, Central Italy, Umbria, near Tuscany). Check-in your apartment at 4:00pm.

 

  • Day 2 – Cooking + Wine Tour in Montefalco.
    Morning: Hands-on cooking class starts around 10:00am. You will prepare a four course lunch that you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by our wines.
    Afternoon: It is a wine tour in a winery that produces Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCGS. You will have a guided tour of the vineyard, cellars finishing up with a test of local Umbrian specialties and the wines. You will also visit the medieval city of  Montefalco.

 

  • Day 3- Cooking +  Wine tour in the Trasimeno Lake
    Morning: Hands-on cooking class starts around 10:00am. You will prepare a four course lunch that you will eat at the end of the class, accompanied by our wines.
    Afternoon: The tour includes the visit of an organic winery  in the Trasimeno wine region including walk in the vineyard,  tour in the cellar and tastings of the wines. You will know the story of the winery and you will appreciate the quality of the organic wines. You will have free time to visit the city of Passignano.

 

  • Day 4 – Departure.
