Later, St. Clare died here). You can return to your apartment at around 3.00 p.m.

Spoleto
The departure is at 9.30 a.m.

Spoleto is an Umbrian town of about 38,000 people on the forested slopes of a sacred mountain in the Apennines. Located 39 miles southeast of Perugia and 78 miles north of Rome, the city springs dramatically to life toward the end of June with the annual Festival dei Due Mondi.
Spoleto is perhaps Umbria's most charming town with thorough-going medievalism, an extremely scenic setting, and several of Italy's most ancient Romanesque churches. You can return to your apartment at around 3.00 p.m.
Castiglione del Lago (Trasimeno Lake)
The departure is at 9.30 a.m.
from the country farm.
Visit Castiglione del Lago a town on the southwest corner of Lake Trasimeno. Over the centuries, as the town grew, the flat gap between the island and the shore was filled with piazze, houses, churches and other buildings.
The historical centre of Castiglione del Lago is a well preserved medieval locality that seems to be governed by a "law of threes": in the town walls there are three gates, and inside the town there are three piazze and three churches. You can return to your apartment at around 3.00 p.m.

Todi-Orvieto
The full

You will visit the city of Todi and Orvieto . Todi: situated in ancient times on the border between the Etruscan and Umbrian territories, Todi has been defined as the most liveable town on earth by the University of Kentucky for its size, its climate, its hilltop location and for it harmonious relationship to its surroundings. An interesting artistic centre in a magnificent position dominating the Tiber valley famous for its Roman and Etruscan remains, for its palaces, its churches and its suggestive medieval environment. Picturesque winding streets, stone buildings, arches, medieval wells, sudden ascents and descents that create various prospective and sudden views of faraway valleys, hills and mountains all contribute to Todi’s unique charm. In the centre of town is the long rectangular Piazza del Popolo, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy, onto which face the Palazzo dei Priori, Palazzo del Popolo and Palazzo del Capitano all originally 13th c. civic buildings still used as such today, and the 11th-12th c. Duomo. The newly restored and reorganized Museo Civico e Pinacoteca houses important pieces ranging from rare Etruscan coins to 16th c. Italian paintings. The city of Orvieto exists in symbiosis with the tuff cliff on which it stands, an extraordinary example of the integration of nature by the work of man.
The Cathedral, dating back to 1263, is the most important architectural landmark of the city, with its splendid Gothic facing and the richness of the ornaments and internal chapels. In the ancient town we also find the St.Patrizio well, built in 1527.

A number of perfectly preserved Medieval hamlets, with their watch towers that were once used to signal the arrival of invading armies, stand guard along the old road that cuts along the Valnerina.
Visit in Norcia, the main town in the Valnerina region of Umbria, surrounded by the natural reserve of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, which comprises an area formerly known as “Vetusta Nursia”.
Visit in Cascia, the city of St Rita.
Orvieto - Civita di Bagnoregio (Viterbo-Latium)
The full day excursion take place
from 8.00 - 19.00.
You will visit the city of Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio .The city of Orvieto exists in symbiosis with the tuff cliff on which it stands, an extraordinary example of the integration of nature by the work of man.
The Cathedral, dating back to 1263, is the most important architectural landmark of the city, with its splendid Gothic facing and the richness of the ornaments and internal chapels. In the ancient town we also find the St.Patrizio well, built in 1527. Civita di bagnoregio is located at the centre of a low plateau (1,000 ft high) between the sea and the Tiber valley. This valley is some 300 ft high and the edge of the plateau is marked by deep ravines which isolate long and narrow hills of tufa rock, very often having a flat top . The Etruscans chose these locations for their towns as they were easily defensible and healthy. The land near the Tiber was often marshy and exposed to floods. But the tufa rock upon which Bagnoregio was built rests on layers of clay which over time tend to slip downwards, thus determining the collapse of sections of the rock above them. This explains why it is called il paese che muore, the dying town. Civita (city) as the oldest part of Bagnoregio is called, is now completely isolated from the plateau to which it was once united by a ridge.
