ONE FULL CULINARY DAY: Cooking Class and Truffle Hunting in Valtiberina Umbria

One of the best and most common reasons to visit Italy is the elusive and delicious black truffle. Umbria is lucky enough to have a wonderful climate for growing truffles.
We have designed this "Full Cooking Day" for food and truffle lovers looking for a unique experience.
In the morning you will have a fun cooking class in the farmhouse.  All of our cooking classes are full-participation and hands on. Our classes are real-world home cooking and result in amazing 4 and 5 course meals, and you will be fully involved in every stage along the way. The food is always based on local recipes.
After your lunch your friendly driver will pick you up, and you will travel to Valtiberina (near Citta di Castello , north of Umbria), where you will have your own private truffle hunt complete with hounds.  The truffle hunter will show you how to find truffles walking through the woods, how to use them in the best way, giving all the secrets, and how to cook and enjoy them. After this wonderful experience you'll have a special truffle tasting of truffle oil, truffle paste and truffle-based products. This is organized in a very famous local truffle laboratory.

Program of 1 Full Day in Umbria: Cooking Class and Truffle Hunting

• 10:00 Arrive in the country farm "la volpe e l'uva" in Perugia. Begin instruction, highlighting the history of Umbria cooking and presenting the day's menu. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves for hands-on preparation of a glorious meal.
• 13:00 Enjoy the fruits of your work! Eat the foods that you just created complemented by our wine and extra virgin olive oil.
• 14.30:Your guide will drive you in the Educational itineraries on the Truffle track, they are fascinating and unique experiences to discover the mysterious world of the Truffle.
  The guided visit is run by experts, who will take you through the entire itinerary from the digging up of the Truffle to its processing and use in cooking, teaching you how to distinguish and taste its different varieties.
  It includes: Demonstration of Truffle hunting with dog,  Tour of the farm and visit of the small museum, Tasting of cooked dishes and local wine tasting. Guided visit in a medieval village in Valtiberina.
